Driver Hire/dh Recruitment (Torbay) is seeking experienced Window and Door Fitters to join our client's expanding installation team. You’ll be working in pairs to deliver high-quality window and door installations for new-build developments across South Devon, ensuring every project is completed safely, accurately, and to an exceptional standard. If you take pride in your craftsmanship and enjoy hands‑on, varied work, this could be the perfect long‑term opportunity for you.
Location
Based in South Devon, with projects across Torbay, Newton Abbot, Paignton, Totnes, Kingsbridge, and surrounding areas - all within a two-hour radius of the depot.
Salary
£15.91 per hour (PAYE Advanced). This is a full‑time, permanent position with regular local work and no overnight stays required.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and fit various windows and doors to high professional standards.
- Accurately measure and align fittings to ensure perfect placement and sealing.
- Safely use hand and power tools during installation.
- Maintain a clean and tidy working area on site.
- Collaborate effectively with other trades when required.
- Record completed work and report any issues promptly.
Essential Experience
Applicants must have proven experience installing:
- Casement windows
- Vertical sliders
- Bi-fold doors
- Sliding patio doors
- French doors and sidelights
- Composite front doors
Qualifications & Requirements
Essential:
- A valid UK driving licence.
- Previous hands‑on experience in carpentry, glazing, construction, or fitting.
- Ability to work as part of a team of two (existing two‑person teams are welcome).
Desirable:
- NVQ in Fenestration Installation.
- Valid CSCS card.
