Overview
Driver Hire/dh Recruitment (Torbay) is seeking a part-time Sports Coordinator to deliver PE lessons, after-school clubs, and community football programmes across Torbay and South Devon. This role is ideal for a passionate and experienced sports coach who enjoys inspiring children and young people through sport while benefiting from flexible hours and hybrid work.
You\’ll be part of a small, dedicated team that delivers engaging, curriculum-aligned sessions in schools and local community venues, making a genuine difference to the health and confidence of young people.
Location and hours
Based in Torquay, with sessions across Torbay and South Devon. This is a hybrid role, combining school- and community-based sessions with some administrative work that can be completed remotely.
Salary
From £12.50 per hour (PAYE).
Responsibilities
- Deliver PE lessons and after-school clubs in line with the National Curriculum.
- Lead community football and sports programmes for children aged 3-16.
- Create and deliver structured, engaging session plans that encourage participation and skill development.
- Complete registers, risk assessments, and basic admin tasks as required.
- Build positive relationships with schools, parents, and local community partners.
- Promote inclusion, teamwork, and enjoyment in all sessions.
Requirements
Essential:
- Three years\\\’ experience in sports coaching, either in schools or community settings.
- Current enhanced DBS check.
- Full UK driving licence and access to transport.
- Confidence in working with children and young people of varying ages and abilities.
Desirable:
- Recognised sports coaching qualifications (e.g. FA Level 1/2, UKCC, etc.).
- Experience planning and delivering school PE sessions or holiday clubs.
