We are looking for a Yard Hand Operative for a full-time permanent role based in Newton Abbot. This is a physically demanding role working in an outdoor yard environment and would suit someone who enjoys hands-on work and being part of a busy team. The role involves general yard duties, loading and unloading goods, manual handling, and operating a counterbalance forklift for part of the day. Immediate start available.
Location: Newton Abbot, Devon
Salary: £29,009.70 per annum
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out general yard duties including organising materials and maintaining a clean and safe working environment
- Load and unload goods safely and efficiently
- Complete manual handling and heavy lifting on a daily basis
- Operate a counterbalance forklift for around two hours per day
- Support the wider team with day to day operational tasks
- Keep the yard clean, organised, and safe at all times
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Valid and in-date Counterbalance Forklift Licence
- Physically fit and capable of heavy lifting
- Strong work ethic and proactive attitude
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ready to start immediately
Desirable:
- Previous experience in a yard, warehouse, or industrial environment
- Experience using a counterbalance forklift in a busy workplace
Benefits:
