We are looking for HGV Class 1 Drivers. This is a great opportunity for experienced and newly qualified drivers looking for flexible work across South Devon and beyond. Driver Hire/dh Recruitment (Torbay & Barnstaple) is recruiting Class 1 C+E drivers for ad hoc day work with opportunities for temp-to-perm positions for the right candidates. This role involves delivering and collecting caged goods across the South West and South Wales for a well-established logistics operation.
Location: Newton Abbot, Devon. It is easily accessible from Exeter, Plymouth, Torquay, Paignton, Totnes, South Brent, Kingsbridge, and Salcombe.
Salary: £14.97 to £23.94 per hour (depending on the shift pattern) PAYE Advance (Other PAYE models are available). Weekly pay. Minimum 8 hours paid per shift.
Key Responsibilities:
- Driving a Class 1 C+E vehicle for deliveries and collections
- Transporting caged goods between customer sites across the South West and South Wales
- Completing all delivery paperwork accurately
- Following all transport, health and safety, and compliance procedures
- Carrying out daily vehicle checks and keeping the vehicle clean and presentable
- Representing Driver Hire/dh Recruitment professionally at all times
- Working day shifts starting from 05:00
- Work available Monday to Sunday
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Valid UK HGV Class 1 C+E licence
- Valid CPC qualification
- Digital Tachograph card
- No more than 6 penalty points
- No DR, DD, or IN codes
- Reliable, punctual, and professional approach to work
Desirable:
- Experience with caged deliveries
- Good geographical knowledge of the South West and South Wales
- Flexible approach to available shifts
- Newly qualified Class 1 drivers are very welcome to apply
