Class 2 HGV Driver for Night Shifts and Quarry Work in Newton Abbot

Driver Hire and dh Recruitment (Torbay) are recruiting Class 2 (Category C) HGV drivers for permanent positions with a long-established company based in Newton Abbot .

This is a night shift role within a 24-hour operation, offering a reliable two-week rotating shift pattern and consistent hours. Previous experience in a quarry or similar environment is beneficial but not essential, as full training will be provided.

Pay and Shift Pattern

• £18.49 per hour PAYE Advanced

• Night shifts from 6pm to 6am

• Average of 42 hours per two-week cycle

• Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday

• Week 2: Wednesday and Thursday

• Paid weekly every Friday

The Role

This is a permanent Class 2 driving role working as part of a professional team in a busy operational environment. Responsibilities include:

• Safe operation of Class 2 vehicles

• Adhering to site rules and operating procedures

• Working within a 24-hour operation

• Maintaining a reliable and safety-focused approach to night work

Experience within a quarry or similar setting is advantageous but not required, as training will be provided.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need:

• A valid HGV Category C (Class 2) licence

• Driver Qualification Card (CPC)

• Digital Tachograph card

• Reliability and flexibility for night shifts and weekend work

• Ability to work safely in a fast-paced operational environment
