Overview
Driver Hire/dh Recruitment (Torbay) is looking for reliable Class 2 Refuse Drivers (Cat C) to join our client\’s waste and recycling team based in Kingsbridge. This is an active, hands-on position combining professional HGV driving with physical waste collection. It offers consistent shifts, competitive hourly rates, and genuine opportunities for long-term or permanent work.
Location
Kingsbridge, Devon. Convenient for candidates travelling from South Brent, Totnes, Paignton, Plymouth and surrounding South Devon areas.
Salary
£17.37 – £26.06 per hour (PAYE Advanced). Alternative pay methods are available.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive an HGV Class 2 (Cat C) refuse and recycling vehicle along set collection routes
- Support the crew by loading and emptying bins and containers
- Carry out daily vehicle safety checks and promptly report any defects
- Maintain communication with depot and operations staff regarding routes and updates
- Follow health, safety, and compliance procedures at all times
Qualifications
Essential
- Full Cat C (Class 2) driving licence
- Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
- Maximum of 6 penalty points (no DR, DD, IN endorsements)
- Good physical fitness and ability to perform manual handling tasks
- Access to own transport for travel to depot
- Mobile phone for shift updates and communications
Desirable
- Prior experience in waste & recycling collection or multi-drop delivery
- Knowledge of South Devon routes and local areas
