Are you seeking stable Class 2 employment that offers early starts and minimal hassle?
Driver Hire/dh Recruitment (Torbay) is recruiting HGV Class 2 (Category C) drivers to support our local clients around Newton Abbot and South Devon. This is hands-on, physical work – ideal if you like getting out early, being part of a small, friendly team, and earning decent money every week.
We\’ve got ongoing full-time roles with regular clients and some temp-to-perm opportunities for drivers who want to settle into something longer-term.
What you\’ll be doing:
Driving a Class 2 vehicle on local and regional routes
Start times from around 05:00, Monday to Saturday
Multi-drop deliveries to businesses – no parcels, but manual handling involved
Dealing directly with customers and taking occasional payments
Keeping your vehicle tidy and completing basic paperwork
What you\’ll need:
Full UK HGV Class 2 (Cat C) licence
Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph card
No more than 6 points (no DR, DD or IN codes)
A decent level of physical fitness
Your own safety boots
Reliable transport to and from the depot
What you\’ll get:
£16.25 to £21.01 per hour (PAYE Advanced)
Guaranteed minimum 8 hours per shift
Weekly pay, always on time
Local work with a variety of clients
Option for extra shifts if you want them
Discounted CPC renewal if needed
