We are recruiting an Apprentice Recruitment Administrator. This is a fantastic opportunity to start your career in recruitment while working towards a nationally recognised Business Administration Level 3 Apprenticeship qualification. This is a full‑time, office‑based role where you will gain hands‑on experience in a busy recruitment environment, supporting both candidates and clients across South Devon.
Location: Newton Abbot, South Devon. Please note that the office will be relocating to Chudleigh in the near future. Due to the office location and nature of the role, candidates must have access to their own transport.
Salary: £16,640 per annum in the first year, paid weekly. Salary review and increase available after successful completion of the first 12 months.
Working hours are Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 17:00 with a 30 minute lunch break, totalling 40 hours per week. Target start date is mid- to late March 2026.
Key Responsibilities:- Supporting senior team members through the full recruitment process
- Making and receiving a high volume of calls with candidates and clients
- Interviewing candidates and assessing suitability for vacancies
- Explaining registration procedures and application processes clearly and professionally
- Keeping accurate records using internal systems in line with GDPR requirements
- Assisting with driving licence checks, reference requests, and candidate database management
- Posting vacancies on job boards and social media platforms
- Attending job fairs, careers events, and local recruitment activities
- Identifying potential business leads through conversations with candidates and CV screening
- Contacting previously registered candidates and maintaining relationships
- Coordinating interviews and managing candidate availability
- Supporting candidate attraction campaigns and sharing new ideas
- Completing general administration duties across the business
- Joining the out‑of‑hours on‑call rota once training has been completed
- Essential: Strong communication skills both in person and over the phone
- Good organisation and time management skills
- Comfortable making outbound calls and speaking with new people
- Strong written and spoken English
- Confident reviewing CVs and written applications
- Positive attitude and genuine interest in helping people
- Full access to your own transport
- Desirable: Experience using social media in a creative or business setting
- Interest in building a long‑term career in recruitment, logistics, or administration
- Previous experience in administration, customer service, or a telephone based role
