We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented professional to join the Drivers Medical team in a Court Correspondence role. This position plays a vital part in supporting legal processes related to driver medical cases, ensuring accurate, clear, and timely preparation of case documentation for court proceedings.

You will work in a people-focused environment, upholding Civil Service values and maintaining the highest standards of accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality.

Top Responsibilities
  • Prepare witness statements by providing factual document evidence in chronological order for coroners, Crown court, magistrates’ court or sheriff’s court.
  • Ensure the correct legal pathways are taken when a road traffic accident, incident or road safety or criminal incident is identified.
  • Represent DVLA in court (in person) or via Cloud Video Platform (CVP) if required.
  • Process any court orders, taking all relevant actions in terms of medical enquiries and refer to relevant operating instructions.

About You

To be successful in this role you will need to have the following experience:

  • Experience in managing and interpreting sensitive casework and/or confidential data, maintaining strict data protection standards.
  • Experience in drafting high quality documentation: excellent verbal communication skills with the confidence and professionalism to represent the organisation in court when required.
  • Experience in being highly organised and able to prioritise business critical work to meet stakeholder directed deadlines.
  • Demonstrate sound judgement with the ability to work independently while recognising when escalation or collaboration is required.
