Driving and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) has an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual with strong stakeholder engagement skills to join its Business Continuity Team.

The role involves supporting the continued implementation and embedding of the Agency’s Corporate Business Continuity Management Framework in line with ISO 22301.

The post holder will act as a subject matter expert for staff with access to the Agency’s Business Continuity software and will be responsible for responding to queries relating to both the content and its use.

The role includes, but is not limited to, organising and facilitating quarterly meetings with key stakeholders, assisting with delivery delivering of training and supporting lessons learned discussions.

Engagement with both internal and external stakeholders is a key aspect of the role, working across the local and wider resilience community.

Key stakeholders include all DVLA Business Areas, Wider Leadership Team and local Business Continuity co-ordinators.

  • Top Responsibilities
  • Maintaining and continuously improving the Agency’s Corporate Business Continuity Management System (BCMS), associated information and documentation library held digitally on the SAN and software system.
  • Monitoring business risks applied to the Agency’s Risk Register, ensuring linked Business Continuity Risks are appropriately recorded on the Corporate Business Continuity Specialist Risk Register and managed in accordance with the Agency’s Risk Appetite Profile.
  • Sharing relevant information and communicating with all areas of the Agency, supporting communication strategies and updating technical content of the Agency’s Corporate Business Continuity Intranet pages.

About You

  • To be successful in this role you will need to have the following experience:
  • Experience of, or a sound understanding of, Document Management processes and practices.
  • Experience of working collaboratively with stakeholders and customers to support the effective delivery of business processes and services.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to adapt your approach and style to meet the needs of a varied audience.
  • Proven ability to organise and prioritise competing workloads, managing multiple tasks effectively and efficiently.
  • Experience of identifying opportunities for improvement and bringing fresh perspectives to challenges and changing situations.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, delivering high-quality outcomes at pace while meeting demanding deadlines.

The successful candidate will be required to undertake a formal Business Continuity qualification within the first year of employment.
