THE ROLE
Our client based in Swadlincote is looking for a Compliance Supervisor to join their team. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring all contract objectives and compliance requirements are met, including transport compliance audits, health & safety audits, environmental audits, and customer-related external audits, while maintaining high operational and regulatory standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee Transport Compliance Audits ensuring all accreditation standards are achieved.
- Ensure driver training is up to date, and all activities are undertaken in accordance with current legislation, Company Policies, and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Maintain vehicle compliance for a fleet of vehicles and drivers spread across the UK, including other depots.
- Initiate, prepare for, and lead internal and external compliance audits, providing detailed reports on logistics operations and identifying areas for improvement.
- Report on compliance issues internally and externally.
- Promote a LEAN culture throughout the site, supporting Kaizen targets and training colleagues in LEAN principles to drive efficiency and continuous improvement.
- Support Health, Safety, and Environmental responsibilities, ensuring all Health & Safety meetings and Safe Working Instructions are adhered to.
- Drive process improvements including fuel efficiency and route optimisation, ensuring all operations are effective and efficient.
EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, ideally within the transport or logistics sector. You should have a solid understanding of driver management and vehicle compliance, along with the ability to navigate IT systems confidently. Strong communication skills are essential, as is the ability to think critically and solve problems efficiently. We are looking for someone proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
