The role:
Driver Resource are currently seeking to recruit Class 1 Drivers (HGV/LGV) to work on an ongoing basis for RXO on the Costco contract based at Crick, Northamptonshire.
Duties for the Class 1 Driver (HGV/LGV) include 1-2 trunks per day to Costco stores, with a possible collection on return from one of their suppliers. This is purely a driving role as the vehicle is security padlocked and only opened by store staff when arriving at the destination. The only time a driver is expected to assist with loading will be at one of the client's customers. All other sites will load the vehicle themselves.
Average hours for Class 1 Drivers (HGV/LGV) are 10-12 hours per day. Weekday shifts may be longer during busy periods, while weekend shifts can be shorter. A minimum of 8 hours will apply. This is a 7 day a week, 52 week a year operation.
The Class 1 Drivers availability is taken the week prior, and shift times are texted out daily by 9:00/9:30am the day before. This contract does not employ permanent staff, therefore all Class 1 Drivers (HGV/LGV) are supplied through the agency.
Extra info:
The client also offers a yearly driver bonus recognition scheme for all Class 1 Drivers (HGV/LGV), which is paid annually at Christmas. To qualify for this:
- Minimum of 15 shifts in a calendar month
- Zero 'No Shows' (failure to attend a confirmed shift)
- Zero tachograph infringements covering Driving Hours & WTD
- No avoidable accidents or injuries
- No camera activations showing:
- Late Response
- Near Collision
- Following time less than 4 seconds
- Hitting the curb

- Handheld mobile device usage
- Smoking in the cab
- Speeding
