HGV Class 1 Day Driver Vacancy
Temp – Perm vacancies available, Magna Park, Lutterworth, Leicestershire. Various shift patterns full and part‑time opportunities available (overtime is available on request).
My client is the approved logistics partner for one of the UK’s largest supermarket chains, operating consolidated logistics centres in Hinckley, Lutterworth and Doncaster, strategically located near key UK ports and major retailer warehouses.
Overview of the Role
- Average drop 1‑3 deliveries/collections per shift.
- Shift starts at 02:00 am – 08:00 am, 7 days a week.
- Typical shift length 10‑12 hours, with possibility of 15‑hour days.
- Vehicles: Curtain side & refrigerated LGV.
- Deliveries to RDCs throughout the UK, with possible collections from client suppliers.
- Assistance required for loading/unloading when requested by depots/clients.
- Completion and return of PODs to the transport office.
- Ensuring goods are safely secured and completed defect logs for LGV vehicles.
Pay Rates
- 02:00 am – 08:00 am starts:
Mon‑Fri £16.50 – £18.49
Sat £18.50 – £20.73
Sun £18.50 – £20.73 - 03:00 am – 08:00 am starts:
Mon‑Fri £14.50 – £16.25
Sat £16.50 – £18.49
Sun £16.50 – £18.49 - PayE Hol separate PayE Hol included in rate.
What We Are Looking For
- Valid full category HGV C+E licence (Class 1) LGV C+E experience.
- Minimum 2 years experience with HGV C+E licence.
- No more than 3 points on driving licence.
- No DR, IN or MS90 conviction codes due to insurance restrictions.
- Minimum age 21 years.
- Good attitude, able to work independently or in a team.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Customer service orientation and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage time and deliveries effectively, avoiding infringements at all costs.
