Driver Require are recruiting for our client based in Nuneaton. DX Logistics is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Yard Shunter to support depot operations by moving trailers and rigid vehicles safely and efficiently between loading bays and yard locations using a Terberg shunt vehicle or HGV Vehicle.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a Terberg or yard shunt unit to move trailers on and off loading bays (“doors”).
- Ensure trailers are positioned correctly and safely for warehouse loading/unloading.
- Shuttle trailers between yard parking areas and designated bays in line with loading plans.
- Carry out vehicle and trailer safety checks before use, report any defects, damages, or safety concerns promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of trailer movements where required.
- Work closely with warehouse operatives, traffic office, and gatehouse staff.
- Ensure yard is kept organised, safe, and compliant with site procedures.
- Adhere to all DX Logistics operational and health & safety policies.
Working Hours
Start times between 17:00 - 20:00 Monday to Friday, some weekends may be required.
PAY RATES - Per Hour
ÂŁ18.00 - ÂŁ20.17 (Including holiday pay)
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience as a yard shunter or in a transport yard environment preferred.
- Experience operating a Terberg or similar shunt vehicle advantageous (first few weeks will be using a HGV Unit).
- Good awareness of health & safety in a logistics environment, ability to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive operation.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills, flexible and reliable with a proactive attitude.
