Overview
We are recruiting HGV Class 2 Drivers based at Mercia Park.
The position is ongoing – Monday to Friday with a start time of 06:00.
Pay rates are £15.00 to £16.00 per weekday, plus holiday pay.
Responsibilities
- Carry out daily checks on the vehicle assigned to you.
- Complete minor repairs to the vehicles when necessary and appropriate.
- Report any damage, defects, or wear-and-tear to the Transport Team.
- Ensure loads are properly strapped.
- Drive a Class 2 lorry to and from customer locations, with multi‑drop up to seven drops to warehouse/RDC.
- Handle handball as required – pump truck duties.
- Communicate with customers and the Transport Team to keep them updated on delivery status and whereabouts.
- Effectively manage driving time to avoid infringements.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of Class 2 driving experience.
- Experience in strapping and loading.
- Ability to navigate vehicles into tight spaces.
- Maximum 6 points on a licence, with no major convictions (DD/DR/IN10's).
