People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Tamworth, Staffordshire. This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, consistent weekday work and genuine opportunities for long-term progression within a professional logistics environment. This position is ideal for candidates seeking a role as an LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver or Articulated Lorry Driver.
Shifts: Monday to Friday, Start times between 15.00 - 18.00 (flexibility required)
Rates of Pay:
- £17.00 per hour Basic
- £19.14 per hour Saturday
- £25.18 per hour Sunday

Day-to-Day Duties: As an HGV Class 1 Driver, your day-to-day duties will include:
- Completing 23 depot-to-depot trunking runs per shift
- Operating curtain-side trailers (no handball required)
- Driving Category CE vehicles safely and efficiently
- Carrying out daily vehicle checks before and after shifts
- Ensuring loads are secure and compliant with transport regulations
- Communicating effectively with the transport office and customers
- Reporting vehicle defects or maintenance issues promptly
Essential Skills: To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need:
- A valid UK Category CE (Class 1) driving licence
- A minimum of twelve month's Class 1 driving experience
- A valid Driver CPC qualification
- A valid Digital Tachograph Card
- No more than six penalty points for minor offences
- No major endorsement codes
- A strong understanding of UK road traffic laws
- Excellent communication and timekeeping skills
- The ability to work independently and maintain professionalism
Desirable Experience: Previous commercial driving experience, Experience completing trunking or depot-to-depot runs
Training Provided: Driver assessment required prior to starting, One-day paid induction following successful assessment
