Driver Hire is looking for a reliable and hardworking Van & Warehouse Operative to support one of our fantastic clients based near Wincanton.
This is a varied role that will involve both driving and warehouse duties, so we are looking for someone flexible, practical and happy to support the wider team wherever needed.
The Role
As part of the role, you will be driving a long wheelbase van with a tail lift, collecting items from various locations and bringing them back to the depot. You will be responsible for loading and unloading the vehicle, so candidates must be comfortable with manual handling and physical work.
When working in the warehouse, your duties will include sorting old stock, organising returned items and assisting with various collections coming back into the depot. During busy periods, you may also be asked to help with basic computer and office-based tasks to support the wider business.
This is a hands-on role and would suit someone who enjoys variety and is happy to get stuck in.
Duties Include
Driving a long wheelbase van for collections
Loading and unloading goods using a tail lift vehicle
Manual handling of items when required
Returning collected items safely to the depot
Sorting old stock and organising collections in the warehouse
Supporting with basic computer and office tasks during busy periods
Helping the wider team with general duties as needed

Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must:
Be over 25 due to insurance requirements
Have a minimum of 2 years’ commercial driving experience
Be confident driving a long wheelbase van
Be comfortable with manual handling
Be flexible and willing to complete driving, warehouse and general support tasks
Have a reliable and professional attitude
Be happy working in a physically demanding role
