An HGV Class 1 Driver (C+E) is required for a temporary-to-permanent opportunity based in the Torbay area. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Class 1 Driver looking for ongoing Monday-to-Friday work, with the potential to secure a permanent position. Deliveries will be made to both trade and direct customers across local and regional routes. Long working days are expected, with occasional nights away from home.

Working Hours: 48-hour working week
Overnight bonus: Paid for nights out
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out local and regional deliveries to trade and direct customers
- Ensure all loads are secured safely before departure
- Complete deliveries safely, professionally and on time
- Check goods with customers and complete all delivery paperwork accurately
- Carry out manual handling and heavy lifting where required
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and roadworthiness standards
- Manage tachograph records in line with current legislation
- Follow all company health and safety procedures
- Work independently or as part of a dual-manned crew
- Start times from 02:00 depending on delivery destination
- Undertake occasional nights out when required
- Drive a range of vehicles from 3.5 tonne up to 26 tonne depending on operational requirements
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence
- Valid Driver CPC qualification
- Digital tachograph card
- Previous HGV Class 1 driving experience
- Good understanding of drivers’ hours and tachograph regulations
- Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively
- Reliable and flexible approach to work
