We are looking for a qualified Category C HGV Driver to join a well-established operation based in Newton Abbot on a permanent night shift basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to secure consistent, reliable work within a professional 24-hour working environment. Full training will be provided, meaning prior experience in a quarry or industrial setting is useful but not a requirement for the right candidate.
Location: Newton Abbot, Devon. This is a site-based role.
Salary: £18.49 per hour PAYE Advance (other PAYE models are available), paid weekly every Friday.
Shift Pattern: The shift pattern operates on a two-week rotating cycle, averaging 42 hours across the fortnight.
- Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday
- Week 2: Wednesday and Thursday
All shifts run from 6pm to 6am.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operating a Category C (Class 2) HGV safely and in accordance with all relevant regulations
- Following all site rules, operational procedures and health and safety requirements
- Conducting vehicle checks and maintaining a diligent, safety-first approach throughout every shift
- Working reliably as part of a wider team within a busy 24-hour operation
- Adapting confidently to a night shift schedule, including weekend working
Qualifications:
Essential:
- A valid HGV Category C (Class 2) driving licence
- A current Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) qualification card
- A valid Digital Tachograph card
- The ability to work night shifts on a rotating pattern, including weekends
- A dependable and safety-conscious approach to work
Desirable:
- Previous experience driving within a quarry, aggregate, construction or similar heavy industry environment
- Familiarity with 24-hour operational settings
- Experience of working within structured shift patterns
