Driver Hire Stockport are recruiting for x2 HGV Mechanics to work for our client based in Glossop. The successful candidate must be an experienced and fully qualified Mechanic. You will be expected to work in a fast-paced environment and have experience in Vehicle Inspection and MOT preparation of vehicles/ trailers, Fault electrician diagnosis, routine servicing and maintenance, and major component repair and replacement.
The candidate must have previous experience working on HGVs and ideally have a HGV Class 1 licence but this is not essential.
There are two different shift patterns that will change on a weekly basis. Please see below;
Week 1- You will work Monday, Tuesday Wednesday, Saturday & Sunday
Week 2- You will work on Thursday & Friday only
You will be working 6am-18.00 with a 1 hour lunch break
Responsibilities of the HGV Mechanic-
- Carrying out routine maintenance and repairs on all vehicles, trailers
- Diagnosing and rectifying all types of HGV faults.
- Ensuring health & safety regulations and safe working practices are adhered to.
- Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness.
- Repairing defects as reported by the Transport team
Requirements of our HGV Mechanic:
- Technical qualification or proven experience repairing & maintaining HGV’s.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to actively seek solutions to problems.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Flexibility to undertake a wide range of tasks.
- Awareness and understanding of health and safety requirements.
- Must have access to their own tools and a boiler suite to take on site.
You will receive a salary of £48,456.20 per annum.
