We have HGV Class 1 and Class 2 driving roles available across South Devon for temporary assignments with ongoing work. These opportunities involve working with established local businesses across Devon and Cornwall, completing various deliveries and transport work. This role is ideal for drivers looking for flexibility, regular shifts, and the chance to work with a range of different employers. Location: South Devon including Torquay, Newton Abbot, Paignton, Totnes, and surrounding areas
Salary: £16.81 to £21.01 per hour PAYE Advance, other PAYE models are available. Paid weekly every Friday. Guaranteed minimum 8 hours per shift.
Job Type: Temporary/Ongoing work available. Flexible shift patterns including days, nights, and weekends.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive Class 1 C+E or Class 2 Category C vehicles
- Carry out local and regional deliveries across Devon and Cornwall
- Complete general haulage, palletised goods deliveries, trade deliveries, and store runs
- Carry out daily vehicle safety checks and report any defects
- Complete delivery paperwork, PODs, and digital tachograph records
- Assist with loading and unloading where required
- Follow drivers’ hours regulations and client site procedures
- Work early starts with predictable finish times on most routes
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Valid HGV Class 1 C+E or Class 2 Category C licence
- Driver CPC qualification
- Digital tachograph card
- No more than 6 penalty points
- Reliable transport to travel to client depots
- Ability to manage early starts and some manual handling
Desirable:
- Previous Class 1 or Class 2 driving experience
- Experience with general haulage, store deliveries, or palletised goods
- Newly qualified drivers are welcome to apply
- Good communication skills and a professional attitude
