The work involves delivering palletised goods across the South West using curtain-sided vehicles. About the role
This is agency-driving work with regular ad hoc shifts available. You will be working Monday to Friday with an 08:00 start. The role offers weekly pay and a guaranteed minimum of 8 hours paid per shift. Class 1 Drivers may be asked to complete Class 2 work depending on the assignment, so this role is best suited to someone flexible and comfortable with both types of vehicle. Class 2 Drivers are also welcome to apply if they only hold a Category C licence.
Duties
- Driving HGV Class 1 C+E or HGV Class 2 Category C vehicles
- Delivering palletised goods across the South West
- Using curtain-sider vehicles
- Completing daily vehicle checks and reporting defects
- Ensuring loads are secured and transported safely
- Completing delivery paperwork and transport documentation
- Providing a professional service during deliveries and collections
- Following transport legislation, company procedures and health and safety requirements
What we are looking for
- A valid UK HGV Class 1 C+E licence or HGV Class 2 Category C licence
- Valid Driver CPC
- Digital Tachograph Card
- Minimum one year of HGV driving experience
- A professional, reliable and safety-focused approach
- Flexibility around agency driving assignments
Class 1 applicants must be happy to drive Class 2 vehicles when needed. Experience with palletised goods, curtain-sider vehicles, tail lifts or ADR would be useful, but such experience is not essential unless required for a specific assignment.
