Location: Exeter

Our client is seeking an experienced Class 1 driver to work as a shunter, moving trailers between their haulage yard and site. A Terberg shunter (specialist shunter vehicle designed for moving trailers around sites, yards, depots, and ports) will be used due to site inclines; familiarisation training is provided.

Role Summary

  • Shunting trailers on a short, fixed internal route
  • Moving precast concrete products, including high‑centre‑of‑gravity wall panels and wide floor slabs
  • Operating safely on gradients and within tight site areas
  • Completing basic vehicle checks and following site safety procedures

Requirements

  • Valid HGV Class 1 / LGV Cat C+E licence
  • Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Cards
  • Strong shunting or yard‑based driving experience
  • Confident handling heavy, wide, or unstable loads
  • Safety‑focused, reliable, and experienced
  • At least 12 months HGV Class 1 commercial driving experience
