Location: Exeter
Our client is seeking an experienced Class 1 driver to work as a shunter, moving trailers between their haulage yard and site. A Terberg shunter (specialist shunter vehicle designed for moving trailers around sites, yards, depots, and ports) will be used due to site inclines; familiarisation training is provided.
Role Summary
- Shunting trailers on a short, fixed internal route
- Moving precast concrete products, including high‑centre‑of‑gravity wall panels and wide floor slabs
- Operating safely on gradients and within tight site areas
- Completing basic vehicle checks and following site safety procedures
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 1 / LGV Cat C+E licence
- Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Cards
- Strong shunting or yard‑based driving experience
- Confident handling heavy, wide, or unstable loads
- Safety‑focused, reliable, and experienced
- At least 12 months HGV Class 1 commercial driving experience
