HGV Refuse Driver – Temp to PermLocation: Epping, Essex Pay: £16.00–£17.93 per hour during the first 12 weeks Permanent Salary: £48,000 per annum Contract: Temp to Perm – 12 weeks We are currently recruiting an experienced HGV Refuse Driver to join our client’s team based in Epping. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and hardworking driver looking for a long-term, permanent position, with the potential to earn £48,000 per year after successfully completing the initial 12-week temp-to-perm period. The Role Driving an HGV refuse collection vehicle, collecting domestic waste bins. Completing approximately 80–100 domestic bin collections per shift. All collections are within the same local area, keeping routes manageable. Working on a rotating shift pattern. Working Monday to Friday during the initial 12-week temporary period. Following successful completion of the 12 weeks, transferring to a permanent contract and working 1 in 3 Saturdays. Shift Patterns The role operates on a rotating shift pattern as follows: Shift 1: 03:00 – 12:00 Shift 2: 03:00 – 12:00 Shift 3: 12:00 – 21:00 The shifts rotate in this sequence, with two early shifts followed by one late shift, before repeating. For example: 03:00–12:00, 03:00–12:00, 12:00–21:00, then repeat. Pay & Benefits £16.00–£17.93 per hour during the initial 12-week temporary period. £48,000 per annum upon transfer to a permanent contract. Temp-to-perm opportunity after 12 weeks. Monday to Friday working during the temporary period. Local routes, with all domestic bin collections within the same area. Long-term employment opportunity with a permanent contract. Requirements Minimum of 1 year’s HGV driving experience. Valid HGV licence. Reliable, punctual and professional attitude. Comfortable with physical, hands-on work alongside refuse collection duties. Ability to work the rotating shift pattern and, once permanent, 1 in 3 Saturdays.
