Driver Hire Southampton is recruiting on behalf of one of our clients for a hands-on Warehouse Technician / Engineering Assistant to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a mechanical, electrical, or technical background who is looking to build a long-term career within a specialist engineering environment. The role offers a varied working day involving equipment preparation, warehouse operations, stock control, and supporting senior engineers.

Main Duties

  • Learning company products and testing specialist heating and cooling equipment within the warehouse
  • Assisting lead engineers with testing, preparation, loading, and unloading of equipment
  • Following company procedures and health & safety guidelines
  • Logging returned items and reporting any faults or damage
  • Picking and preparing orders accurately
  • Supporting stock control, checks, and reporting shortages
  • Keeping the warehouse clean and using equipment such as pressure washers when required

Skills & Experience Required

  • Mechanical engineering, electrical, or technical background preferred
  • Comfortable with heavy lifting and working on your feet throughout the day
  • Basic IT skills including Outlook
  • Flexible to work overtime when required
  • Excellent timekeeping and organisational skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Positive attitude with willingness to learn new skills
  • High attention to detail and pride in your work

Hours

12 week Temp-Perm position, 40 hours per week plus overtime.
