A Class 2 HIAB Driver is required for a permanent, full-time position based in Newton Abbot. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver with HIAB remote hook experience to join a well-established business offering a competitive salary, regular weekday hours and excellent earning potential through overtime and on-call payments. Current drivers are on track to earn around £45,000 per year.

Location: Newton Abbot, Devon

Salary:

  • Basic salary: £35,000 per year
  • 40 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday
  • On-call allowance: £90 per week whilst on the rota
  • On call rota: 1 week in every 3
  • Saturday callouts are paid at time and a half with a minimum of 4 hours paid
  • Sunday callouts are paid at double time with a minimum of 4 hours paid
  • Expected earnings: £45,000 per year

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operating a Class 2 vehicle fitted with a HIAB crane using a remote hook
  • Completing deliveries and collections safely and efficiently
  • Carrying out daily vehicle and equipment safety checks
  • Following all transport legislation and company procedures
  • Adhering to site health and safety requirements
  • Providing a professional and courteous service at customer locations

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Valid Category C (Class 2) driving licence
  • Current HIAB certificate with remote hook experience
  • Valid Driver CPC qualification
  • No more than 6 penalty points
  • Good understanding of health and safety procedures

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a similar HIAB delivery role
