Warehouse Operative – Steel ProductsLocation: Chelmsford, Essex We are currently looking for a reliable and hardworking Warehouse Operative to join a busy steel products business based in Chelmsford. This is a varied, hands-on role involving the handling and preparation of steel products, operating cutting machinery, and loading and unloading deliveries. Full training will be provided on all saws and forklift trucks, making this an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their skills within the steel industry. Key Responsibilities Picking and preparing steel products for customer orders. Cutting steel products using a range of saws (full training provided). Loading and unloading delivery vehicles. Moving, handling and organising stock within the warehouse. Operating forklift trucks once trained and authorised. Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe working environment. Supporting the wider warehouse team with day-to-day operations. What We’re Looking For A reliable, hardworking and practical individual. Good attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions. A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills. The ability to work effectively as part of a team. FLT experience would be an advantage, although training will be provided on both forklift trucks. Previous warehouse or steel industry experience would be beneficial but is not essential. Working Hours Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 5:00pm Friday: 8:00am – 4:30pm One-hour lunch break and two 15-minute breaks each day. Benefits 25 days’ annual holiday. Annual profit-sharing scheme.
