Location: Bridgwater

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm

Starting Salary: £27,500 per year, rising to £30,000.

Bonus: Uncapped personal and business performance bonuses

Driver Hire Bridgwater & Taunton is looking for a confident, people-focused Business Development Executive to support the continued growth of our Bridgwater site and help expand our client base across Bridgwater, Taunton and the wider Somerset region. The role will be based from our main Bridgwater office, so applicants must live within a commutable distance of Bridgwater.

A key part of the role will involve visiting local businesses face-to-face, building relationships with decision-makers and introducing Driver Hire as a trusted recruitment partner. This is a role for someone who enjoys getting out, meeting local businesses, asking the right questions and winning new clients through a professional, consultative approach. This is not a basic sales role or a purely desk-based position. We are looking for someone who enjoys meeting people, understanding what businesses need, creating their own opportunities and building long-term commercial relationships.

The Role

  • Supporting the continued growth and development of Driver Hire Bridgwater & Taunton
  • Winning new clients across Bridgwater, Taunton and the wider Somerset region
  • Creating and managing your own pipeline of potential clients
  • Generating new business opportunities through face-to-face meetings, local canvassing, telephone calls, email follow-ups and social media activity
  • Visiting businesses face-to-face to introduce Driver Hire and understand their staffing requirements
  • Building relationships with business owners, transport managers and key decision-makers
  • Identifying, qualifying and developing new leads
  • Managing your pipeline through regular meetings, follow-ups and ongoing communication
  • Understanding client requirements and identifying where Driver Hire can provide recruitment support
  • Introducing Driver Hire’s services to local employers in a professional and consultative way
  • Following up with prospects and maintaining regular contact
  • Working closely with the recruitment team to turn opportunities into successful placements
  • Maintaining accurate records of client conversations, leads, follow-ups and opportunities
  • Helping grow an ambitious, locally owned recruitment business

What We Offer

  • Starting salary of £27,500 per year
  • Salary rising to £30,000 after successful completion of 3 months

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience in sales, business development, account management, recruitment or a client-facing commercial role
  • Confidence meeting clients face-to-face
  • Strong communication skills
  • A consultative, relationship-led approach
  • Ability to create, manage and develop a sales pipeline
  • Confidence using phone, email, face-to-face meetings and social media to generate new business opportunities
  • Ability to qualify leads and identify genuine commercial opportunities
  • A full, clean UK driving licence
  • Ability to drive an automatic vehicle
  • Be aged 23 or over due to company vehicle insurance requirements
  • Live within a commutable distance of Bridgwater
