We are currently seeking an Assembly Operative for one of our clients based in the Stockbridge area. Our client is a well-established steel fabricator, specialising in the manufacture and assembly of balcony systems and associated components for major construction projects.
The position would suit someone with previous experience in assembly, manufacturing, or steel fabrication, who takes pride in producing quality work and can operate effectively as part of a team. This is a temporary to permanent position, offering the opportunity for a permanent contract following a successful probationary period.
Key Responsibilities- Assembling balcony components and sub-assemblies using hand and power tools
- Reading and following engineering drawings, work instructions, and assembly plans
- Working with materials such as aluminium, steel, glass, and fixings
- Ensuring all assemblies meet quality, safety, and specification requirements
- Carrying out visual quality checks and reporting any defects or issues
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised work area
- Working efficiently to meet production targets and deadlines
- Collaborating with supervisors and other team members on the shop floor
- Previous assembly, manufacturing, or production experience preferred
- Ability to use hand tools and basic power tools confidently
- Good attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Comfortable working in an Industrial environment
- Ability to follow instructions and work to consistent standards
