We are currently recruiting on behalf of a local general haulage business, based in Appleton, who are looking to add an experienced HGV class 1 driver to their growing team. You will be joining a long established family business, who value each member of their workforce in the highest regard.
Mostly working Monday to Friday, as an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will be required to start each shift at 5am. Occasional weekend work may be requested of you during busier periods, which is paid at time and half for Saturdays and double time for Sundays. Additionally, all overtime work carried out on weekdays will also be paid at the increased time and a half hourly rate.
This role involves driving a range of vehicles, including articulated HGV lorries, 7.5 Tonne trucks and 3.5 Tonne vans when necessary. You will be tasked with a combination of deliveries and collections, which will include the use of pallet trucks as well as some manual lifting.
