Overview
Driver Hire Uxbridge are recruiting for a Van Driver for our companies within UB postcode areas (Uxbridge / Greenford / Southall / Hayes / West Drayton etc)
ALL ROLES ARE ON A TEMPORARY ADHOC BASIS - SHIFTS ARE NOT GUARANTEED
PAYE between 13.75 and 16.55 per hour (including holiday pay)

Driver Hire Uxbridge supply 3.5t drivers to a multitude of Companies, this includes; Car/Van hire, Catering equipment hire, Builders Merchants, Tool hire equipment, Industrial printers/scanners and multi drop deliveries in and around the M25 and Central London (up to 20-30 drops only)
Shifts are mainly during the week, Day shifts, Monday to Friday (occasional weekends)
Start times can vary between 5:30 and 8am
Duties
- Multi-drop deliveries of high-end products
- Collecting products from suppliers
- Preparing customer orders prior to dispatch and loading orders onto vehicles, deliveries require you to use ratchet straps
- Communicate with customers to confirm delivery details and address any concerns or issues
- Some companies require constant heaving lifting for deliveries/collections! (lifting heavy items for a distant and up/down stairs)
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance, including checking fuel levels, tyre pressure, and fluid levels
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations
Rates of pay
- We pay for a minimum of 8 hours a day (breaks are not paid)
- Overtime is paid after 9 hours
- PAYE between 13.75 and 16.55 per hour (including holiday pay)
Requirements
- Valid UK CAT B licence for at least 2 years with no more than 6 points (no DR DD TT IN)
- Manual driving licence
- You must be over the age of 25 years for insurance purposes
- At least 1-year experience as a van driver or in a similar role is preferred (references required)
- No more than 1 hour commute for you to travel to work
- Physically fit, as some jobs require lifting and shifting
- Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and team members
- Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and safety standards
