Driver Hire Uxbridge are currently recruiting for Class 2 Drivers (CAT C) for our customers in the UB postcode area (Uxbridge/Hayes/Greenford/West Drayton etc). ALL ROLES ARE ON A TEMPORARY ADHOC BASIS - SHIFTS ARE NOT GUARANTEED.
£17.51 to £20.50 per hour PAYE (incl. Holiday Pay). Guaranteed 8 hours pay a day. Overtime after 9+ hours (breaks are not paid).
All-round Duties:
- A to B drops, Multi drop deliveries in and around M25 (up to 10 drops) including Builders merchants and Scaffolding, Movies/TV, events and catering and Alcohol (optional).
- As a Class 2 Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism.
- Complete deliveries correctly and efficiently, in a professional and timely manner.
- Secure load onto vehicle for transit (ratchet straps/strapping).
- Communicate with customers to confirm delivery details and address any concerns or issues.
- Conduct inspections of the vehicle prior to leaving depot, including checking tyres, brakes, lights, and other essential systems.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations.
Requirements:
- Valid UK CAT C manual licence for at least 2 years with no more than 6 points (no DR DD TT IN or MS90 endorsements).
- Valid CPC and TACHO.
- Age 25 years+ for insurance purposes.
- Minimum 1 year HGV Class 2 driving experience (references required).
- Physically fit, as some jobs require lifting and shifting.
- Excellent verbal and written English skills to interact with customers and team members.
- Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and safety standards.
