Driver Hire Uxbridge are recruiting for Delivery Van Drivers for our companies within UB postcode areas (Uxbridge / Greenford / Southall / Hayes / West Drayton etc). All roles are on a temporary adhoc basis - shifts are not guaranteed.

Pay: £13.75 to £16.55 per hour (including holiday pay). Day shifts, Monday to Friday (occasional weekends) with start times between 5:30 and 8am.

Duties expected of a Van Driver:

  • Multi-drop deliveries of high-end products (Cars/Vans, Catering Equipment, Plant and Tool hire Equipment, Alcohol) in and around the M25 and Central London.
  • Collecting products from suppliers.
  • Preparing customer orders prior to dispatch and loading orders onto vehicles.
  • Secure loads using ratchet straps - must have experience!
  • Communicate with customers to confirm delivery details and address any concerns or issues.
  • Some companies require constant heavy lifting for deliveries/collections (lifting heavy items for a distance and up/down stairs).
  • Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance, including checking fuel levels, tyre pressure, and fluid levels.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations.

Rates of pay for a Van Driver: We pay for a minimum of 8 hours a day (breaks are not paid). Overtime is paid after 9 hours. PAYE between £13.75 and £16.55 per hour (including holiday pay).

Van Driver Requirements:

  • Valid UK CAT B licence for at least 2 years with no more than 6 points (no DR DD TT IN).
  • Manual driving licence.
  • You must be over the age of 25 years for insurance purposes.
  • At least 1-year experience as a van driver or in a similar role is preferred (references required).
  • No more than 1 hour commute for you to travel to work.
  • Physically fit, as some jobs require lifting and shifting.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and team members.
  • Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and safety standards.
