HGV Class 1 Driver – Temp to Perm – £18–£20 per Hour
Location: Chessington Schedule: Monday to Friday, plus every other Saturday Pay: £18.00 per hour | £20.00 overtime Job type: Temporary to permanent
We are recruiting an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver (Cat C+E) to join our client’s busy and professional operation in Chessington.
This is an excellent temp-to-perm opportunity, with the potential to secure a permanent position following a successful 12-week trial period.
You will be responsible for the safe and professional delivery of medicines as part of a dedicated transport team.
- Pay and working hours
- Monday to Friday: 05:00–16:00
- Every other Saturday: 05:00 start, half-day shift
- Standard rate: £18.00 per hour – Advanced PAYE
- Overtime after 40 hours: £20.00 per hour
- Saturday shifts: £20.00 per hour
- Weekly pay throughout the 12-week trial period
- Your responsibilities
- Safely and professionally deliver medicines
- Complete all required vehicle and delivery checks
- Keep your allocated vehicle clean and tidy
- Provide a reliable and professional service
- Work effectively with the transport team, customers and colleagues
- Represent the company positively at all times
Essential requirements
- Valid HGV Class 1 / Cat C+E licence
- Licence held for at least two years
- Minimum two years’ Class 1 driving experience
- Valid Driver CPC and digital tachograph card
- Good written and spoken English
- Reliable, punctual and presentable
- Comfortable working the scheduled hours and alternate Saturdays
- Flexible, professional and willing to support a busy operation
- Able to successfully complete the client’s driving assessment before starting
