About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join a busy steel transport operation based in Thorne. You will be responsible for transporting steel products across the UK using a flatbed wagon.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operating a Class 1 flatbed vehicle
- Transporting various steel loads to sites nationwide
- Carrying out daily vehicle checks and reporting defects
- Safely securing loads in line with health & safety standards
- Occasional nights out may be required (not full weeks or every week)
Requirements:
- Valid UK Class 1 (C+E) Licence
- CPC & Digital Tacho Card
- At least 2 years' Class 1 driving experience
- Proven experience transporting steel on flatbeds
- Strong knowledge of load securing and strapping methods
- No more than 6 points on licence - no DD, DR, or IN convictions
- Good understanding of driver hours and WTD regulations
