Window and Door Fitters are required for a full-time, permanent position covering South Devon and the surrounding area. We are recruiting experienced Window and Door Fitters to join a growing installation team working on high-quality new build housing developments. This is a hands-on role installing a wide range of windows and doors across multiple residential sites. We welcome applications from individual fitters and established fitting pairs who already work together. If you take pride in producing high-quality work, have excellent attention to detail, and are looking for regular local work without spending nights away from home, we would like to hear from you.
Location: South Devon. Projects located across Torbay, Newton Abbot, Paignton, Totnes, Kingsbridge and surrounding areas. All sites are within approximately two hours of the depot. No overnight stays required.
Salary: £17.20 per hour PAYE. Other PAYE models are available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install windows and doors on new-build residential developments
- Fit and finish installations to a high standard, ensuring correct alignment, sealing and operation
- Take accurate measurements and carry out adjustments where required
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Follow all site health and safety procedures
- Work closely with your fitting partner and other trades on site
- Maintain clean, organised and safe working areas
- Complete installation records and report any issues or defects promptly
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Previous experience fitting windows and doors within residential or construction environments
- Experience installing casement windows, vertical sliding windows, bi-fold doors, sliding patio doors, French doors, sidelights and composite entrance doors
- Background in glazing, fenestration installation, carpentry, joinery or a similar trade
- Ability to work effectively as part of a two-person installation team
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
- NVQ in Fenestration Installation or a related qualification
- Valid CSCS card
