Our client, a well‑established and successful business based in the Newton Abbot area, is looking to recruit a reliable and motivated Warehouse Operative to join their busy warehouse team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast‑paced environment and takes pride in maintaining high standards of accuracy, organisation and safety.
Please note: This role is physically demanding and involves heavy lifting for the majority of the working day. It is therefore not suitable for candidates seeking light‑duty warehouse work, and applicants must be comfortable carrying out regular manual handling tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Pick customer orders accurately and place them in the correct areas ready for delivery.
- Ensure all stock is stored in the correct warehouse locations.
- Safely carry out heavy lifting and manual handling duties throughout the working day.
- Report any stock discrepancies or issues promptly to your Supervisor or the Stock Control Team.
- Assist with stock takes and inventory checks as required.
- Complete out-of-date stock lists, damaged stock records and MHE (Material Handling Equipment) records accurately.
- Prioritise workloads to meet operational deadlines.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
- Adhere to all warehouse health and safety procedures and company policies at all times.
What We're Looking For
- Previous warehouse experience is essential.
- Happy to undertake heavy lifting and physically demanding manual handling duties for the majority of each shift.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
