An exciting permanent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Van Driver to join a well-established operation based in Newton Abbot, South Devon. This is a full-time, permanent position offering a consistent and structured shift pattern across a seven-day operation. The successful candidate will become part of a professional team delivering excellent customer service while operating a 3.5 tonne vehicle safely and efficiently.
Location: Newton Abbot, Devon. This is a site and road-based role. No remote or hybrid working applies.
Salary: £12.21 - £13.68 per hour. The salary is paid weekly, every Friday, through PAYE Advance (other PAYE models are available).
Key Responsibilities:
- Operating a 3.5 tonne Category B van safely and in line with all relevant procedures
- Completing customer deliveries to a high standard, representing the company professionally at every drop
- Following all health and safety guidelines and operational protocols at all times
- Maintaining punctuality and reliability across early morning starts and weekend shifts
- Reporting any vehicle or route issues promptly to the relevant team members
Qualifications:
Essential:
- A full and valid Category B driving licence
- Previous experience in a van delivery role or a comparable driving environment
- Ability to work confidently and safely in a fast-paced, operationally busy setting
- Flexibility to commit to a Thursday-to-Monday shift pattern, including early morning starts
Desirable:
- Familiarity with delivery routes across South Devon
- Experience working in a time-sensitive distribution or logistics environment
Please note that minimal on-the-job training will be available, so prior experience in a similar role is a requirement for this position.
