HGV Class 2 Driver required for a permanent, full-time position based in Newton Abbot, Devon. Driver Hire/dh Recruitment (Torbay & Barnstaple) is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Class 2 Driver to join a busy and established transport operation. This is a permanent role offering stable, long-term employment, consistent weekly hours, and a structured Thursday-to-Monday shift pattern.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out customer deliveries across the region while maintaining high standards of safety, professionalism, and customer service. This opportunity would suit an experienced HGV Driver looking for job security, regular earnings, and a dependable employer.
Location
Newton Abbot, Devon. This is a depot and road-based role. No remote or hybrid working is available.
Salary
£37,340.16 per annum. Paid weekly every Friday.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Category C Class 2 HGV vehicle
- Complete customer deliveries efficiently and professionally
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects promptly
- Comply with drivers' hours regulations and tachograph requirements
- Follow all company health and safety procedures
- Deliver excellent customer service during all customer interactions
- Maintain accurate records and vehicle documentation
- Attend work reliably, including early starts and weekend shifts
- Represent the business professionally at all times
Qualifications
Essential
- Full UK Category C Class 2 HGV driving licence
- Valid Driver CPC qualification
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card
- Previous Class 2 driving experience within a commercial driving environment
- Ability to work a Thursday to Monday shift pattern
- Comfortable working within a busy transport and logistics operation
- Strong understanding of drivers' hours and road transport legislation
Desirable
- Knowledge of South Devon delivery routes
- Previous experience within distribution or logistics
- Understanding of manual handling procedures

Please note that this role requires previous Class 2 driving experience. Minimal training will be provided following induction.
