Job Description
HGV Class 1 Driver opportunities are available in South Devon and the surrounding areas for experienced and newly qualified drivers who want flexible, regular work. Shifts run Friday to Tuesday with 5am starts, and you will have every Wednesday and Thursday off. Driver Hire/dh Recruitment (Torbay & Barnstaple) is recruiting HGV Class 1 C+E Drivers based in Newton Abbot. The role offers regular shifts and a chance to move into a permanent position with the right employer.
Location
Newton Abbot, Devon
Easy to reach from Exeter, Plymouth, Torquay, Paignton, Totnes, South Brent, Kingsbridge and Salcombe.
Salary
£13.69 to £20.54 per hour, paid through PAYE Advance (other pay models are available).
Other PAYE models are available.
Paid weekly.
Minimum of 8 hours guaranteed on every shift.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive a Class 1 C+E vehicle safely and professionally.
- Collect and deliver caged goods across the South West and South Wales
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects.
- Complete delivery paperwork and transport documents accurately
- Keep your vehicle clean and presentable.
- Represent our clients with excellent customer service
- Follow all transport legislation, health and safety procedures and company policies
- Work day shifts, with typical start times from 05:00
Qualifications
Essential
- Valid UK HGV Class 1 C+E licence
- Valid Driver CPC qualification
- Digital Tachograph card
- No more than 6 penalty points
- No DR, DD or IN endorsements
- A reliable, professional and punctual approach
Desirable
- Experience delivering caged goods
- Good geographical knowledge of the South West and South Wales
- A flexible approach to available shifts
- Newly qualified Class 1 drivers are welcome to apply.
