We are recruiting reliable HGV Class 2 refuse drivers to work with a well-established waste and recycling service based in Kingsbridge, Devon. This is a physically active driving role combining vehicle operation with hands-on collections. It offers regular shifts, competitive pay, and the opportunity to move into a permanent contract for the right candidates.
Location: Kingsbridge, Devon. Within easy reach of South Brent, Totnes, Paignton, Plymouth, and surrounding South Devon towns.
Salary: £17.65 per hour PAYE Advance. Other PAYE models are available.
Key Responsibilities:- Operating a Category C (Class 2) refuse and recycling vehicle on designated routes
- Assisting with the collection, loading, and unloading of waste and recycling bins
- Liaising with depot staff for daily route instructions and updates
- Carrying out basic vehicle checks and reporting any issues promptly
- Following all health and safety guidelines on and off the road
- Essential: A valid Cat C (Class 2) driving licence
- In-date CPC and digital tachograph cards
- No more than 6 points on your licence and no DR, DD, or IN endorsements
- Physically capable of handling bins and containers
- Own transport to travel to the depot
- A mobile phone for receiving route and schedule information
- Desirable: Prior experience in waste collection or multi-drop driving
- A strong working knowledge of South Devon routes and areas
- £17.65 per hour PAYE Advance. Other PAYE models are available.
- Enhanced overtime pay
- Monday to Friday working pattern with optional Saturday shifts during bank holiday weeks
