Driver Hire Teesside are currently recruiting for a Class 2 Lead Driver for a full-time position based in the Eaglescliffe area. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Class 2 driver looking to step into a leadership role, supporting both drivers and transport operations.

The Role

  • Driving Class 2 vehicles (including tipper/mixer work)
  • Supporting planners with route optimisation
  • Assisting with driver start/finish times and daily operations
  • Monitoring tachograph compliance and downloads
  • Ensuring vehicle checks and cleanliness standards are maintained
  • Acting as a key point of support within the driver team

A great opportunity to move into a lead position while remaining hands-on.

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 2 years Class 2 (C) experience
  • Strong understanding of driver hours & tachograph regulations
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to support and guide other drivers
  • Cement mixer/tipper experience preferred (training available)

What’s On Offer

  • £37,367 basic salary
  • £160 per month leadership bonus
  • £4.50 meal allowance (for shifts over 4 hours)
