The predicted salary is between 36228 - 40300 £ per year.
Driver Hire Stockport are recruiting for a HGV Mechanic to work for our client based in Glossop. The successful candidate must be an experienced and fully qualified Mechanic. You will be expected to work in a fast-paced environment and have experience in Vehicle Inspection and MOT preparation of vehicles/trailers, fault diagnosis, routine servicing and maintenance, and major component repair and replacement. If you have an HGV licence this is preferred but not essential. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working on HGV vehicles, but this is not essential as full training will be provided from the client.
There are two different shift patterns that will change on a weekly basis:
- Week 1: You will work Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday & Sunday
- Week 2: You will work on Thursday & Friday only
You will be working 6am-6pm with a 1 hour lunch break.
Responsibilities of the Mechanic:
- Carrying out routine maintenance and repairs on all vehicles and trailers.
- Diagnosing and rectifying all types of HGV faults.
- Ensuring health & safety regulations and safe working practices are adhered to.
- Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness.
- Repairing defects as reported by the Transport team.
Requirements of our Mechanic:
- Technical qualification or proven experience repairing & maintaining HGVs.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to actively seek solutions to problems.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Good verbal communication skills.
- Flexibility to undertake a wide range of tasks.
- Awareness and understanding of health and safety requirements.
- Must have access to their own tools and a boiler suit to take on site.
Please note that this is an ongoing role, with the view of a permanent position being offered.
Pay Rates: £21.03ph which amounts to £36,228.00 per annum - Paid weekly via PAYE.
