Driver Hire Southampton are recruiting on behalf of a well-established general haulage company for an experienced Class 2 Driver. This is a great opportunity to join a professional and supportive operation delivering palletised freight to commercial customers across the UK.

About this Class 2 position

  • Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturdays on a rota basis
  • Start time: 7:15am
  • Long-distance deliveries throughout the UK
  • Delivering palletised freight to commercial customers
  • Use of a pump truck for unloading pallets (some sites may unload via forklift)
  • Completing daily vehicle checks and accurately maintaining all paperwork

Requirements from you as a Class 2 Driver

  • Full UK Class 2 (Category C) licence
  • Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph card
  • Minimum of 2 years' Class 2 driving experience
  • Previous experience strapping loads securely
  • Experience driving 18-tonne or 26-tonne curtain-side tail-lift vehicles
  • Good understanding of drivers' hours and health & safety regulations
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently
  • Reliable, professional, and safety-focused approach
