About the Role

Driver Hire Southampton is recruiting for a Junior Production / Assembly Technician on behalf of our client based in Winchester, who specialise in the manufacturing of lighting systems. This role is ideal for a technically skilled individual with experience in soldering, wiring, and mechanical assembly, who can work efficiently within a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying out soldering and wiring tasks
  • Completing basic mechanical assembly, including drilling and cutting aluminium
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings
  • Performing cable wiring, crimping, and soldering
  • Testing products and completing production inspections
  • Working to tight deadlines while maintaining high quality standards
  • Communicating effectively with team members

Experience & Skills Required

  • Minimum 2 years' hand soldering experience (essential)
  • At least 2 years' professional assembly experience
  • Ability to read technical drawings
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work under pressure
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
