Driver Hire Southampton is recruiting on behalf of one of our clients for a hands-on Warehouse Technician / Engineering Assistant to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a mechanical, electrical, or technical background who is looking to build a long-term career within a specialist engineering environment. The role offers a varied working day involving equipment preparation, warehouse operations, stock control, and supporting senior engineers.
Main Duties
- Learning company products and testing specialist heating and cooling equipment within the warehouse
- Assisting lead engineers with testing, preparation, loading, and unloading of equipment
- Following company procedures and health & safety guidelines
- Logging returned items and reporting any faults or damage
- Picking and preparing orders accurately
- Supporting stock control, checks, and reporting shortages
- Keeping the warehouse clean and using equipment such as pressure washers when required
Skills & Experience Required
- Mechanical engineering, electrical, or technical background preferred
- Comfortable with heavy lifting and working on your feet throughout the day
- Basic IT skills including Outlook
- Flexible to work overtime when required
- Excellent timekeeping and organisational skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Positive attitude with willingness to learn new skills
- High attention to detail and pride in your work
