Driver Hire Southampton are currently recruiting experienced Class 1 HGV Drivers to work with our clients, who specialise in general haulage and palletised deliveries across the South Coast.

Whether you're looking for occasional ad hoc shifts or regular ongoing work, we have a variety of opportunities available to suit your availability.

The Role

  • Ad hoc work available Monday to Friday
  • Day and night shifts available
  • Average shift length of 10-12 hours
  • Delivering palletised goods on a Class 1 curtainsider
  • Deliveries and some collections throughout the South Coast
  • Pallets loaded and unloaded for you using FLT
  • Night work includes truncking and trailer swaps
  • Liaising with the Transport Office and following allocated routes
  • Completing all relevant paperwork accurately
  • Carrying out daily vehicle checks

What we are looking for

To be considered for this Class 1 Driver role, you will need

  • A full UK Class 1 (C+E) driving licence
  • Valid CPC and Digi Tacho card
  • Minimum 1 year Class 1 driving experience
  • Experience with curtain-side trailers
  • Experience in general haulage and palletised deliveries
  • Experience with load securing and strapping
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Reliable timekeeping and a professional attitude
  • Your own transport to commute to and from work
