About the Role
Driver Hire Southampton is recruiting for a Junior Production / Assembly Technician on behalf of our client based in Winchester, who specialise in the manufacturing of lighting systems. This role is ideal for a technically skilled individual with experience in soldering, wiring, and mechanical assembly, who can work efficiently within a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out soldering and wiring tasks
- Completing basic mechanical assembly, including drilling and cutting aluminium
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings
- Performing cable wiring, crimping, and soldering
- Testing products and completing production inspections
- Working to tight deadlines while maintaining high quality standards
- Communicating effectively with team members
Experience & Skills Required
- Minimum 2 years' hand soldering experience (essential)
- At least 2 years' professional assembly experience
- Ability to read technical drawings
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work under pressure
- Good written and verbal communication skills
