Driver Hire Southampton is recruiting on behalf of our established client who design, install and maintain temperature control systems.

Renowned for delivering high-quality refrigeration and chiller systems across a variety of industries, our client has built an excellent reputation for innovation, reliability, and engineering excellence.

Due to continued business growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced Lead Test Engineer to join their skilled engineering team.

The Role

As a Lead Test Engineer, you will be responsible for independently testing and commissioning the company's range of industrial chillers, ensuring every unit meets the highest standards before leaving the workshop.

This role is ideal for someone with strong electrical and refrigeration knowledge who is confident working on their own and takes pride in delivering quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

Test and commission the company's full range of chiller systems.

Diagnose and resolve electrical and refrigeration faults.

Carry out functional and performance testing to ensure products meet quality standards.

Read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.

Maintain high standards of safety and quality.

Work independently while collaborating with the wider engineering team when required.

What We're Looking For

Valid F-Gas Certification (essential).

Previous experience working with chillers and refrigeration systems.

Strong electrical systems knowledge and fault-finding experience.

Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.

Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Positive, proactive attitude.

Full UK driving licence preferred.
