Driver Hire Southampton is currently recruiting for a reliable and experienced Class 1 Driver. In this role, you will be responsible for transporting timber products to various locations, ensuring deliveries are made efficiently, safely, and on time.
About the Role:
- Contract Length: 6-month contract with potential for a permanent position based on performance.
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday (no weekends). Flexibility to work between 1-5 days per week, depending on client needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transporting timber products to locations across the South Coast and Midlands.
- Driving a Class 1 curtainsider.
- Collecting timber from docks or timber production warehouses.
- Deliveries where goods are forklifted off at the destination.
- Ensuring safe and timely deliveries while maintaining high standards of service.
What We’re Looking For:
- Full UK Class 1 (C+E) driving licence.
- Valid CPC and Digi Tacho card.
- Minimum 1-year experience driving a Class 1 vehicle.
- Previous experience in timber transport or similar roles is beneficial.
- Experience with strapping and securing loads.
- Own transport for commuting to and from work is essential.
